store is open!

Quick note, just want to let you all know that the ‘shop’ is open on my website.

What can you get there?

Starting out with items that have been popular at my Retreats.

Jo’s books that are ‘in print’.

The Presencia thread packs in Jo colors in 50wt 3 ply, and also offering 60wt 3 ply large spools in a couple of neutral colors for machine sewing.

I’m pleased to offer  soon – hand letterpress notecards (box of 6, 2 each of the three colors) with the bird toile design (with permission from Andover Fabrics of course.

The Scrap Lab Variety fabric Kit featured in Quilts and More.

As we (remember I have some part time evening help) get used to filling orders from the website, then will think about other offerings.  Be sure and check back.

Today’s sewing . . . . two bindings stitched to smaller quilts, two to go!

Have a Happy Stitching Day!

OK, time to get back into Blogging!

Office help, Chloe and Tigger today

I’m having a heck of a time getting caught up, office help isn’t much help.  Should I fire them?  Dock them?  After all they get board, room, cleaned litter box, petting time, all the naps they can take.  Pretty good digs for rescue kitties.

Tigger (yellow kitty), has his butt on the keyboard and a couple of new screens appeared atop my email program, he even opened the home page to my website.   Hummm.   He’s good isn’t he, new screens like magic.

For some reason Chloe has been hanging around my desk, taking naps on paperwork that needs done, she frowns at me when I move her and she talks back.

Went to NY the first week of February, so have been busy with a couple new fabric lines for Fall, I think you will find my Blogging absence worth while for ‘our’ future quilts.

Last week one day, I was headed to the studio, the neighbor across the street from the studio was cleaning out his joe boat with the duck blind, there was duck decoys in a row in front of his garage door.  As I was working, I got to thinking how cute it would be to walk over and take a picture, then tell you all that I’ve been busy “getting my ducks in a row”!

I went and looked out the window and the ducks were gone, a lost opportunity for my Blog.  Not sure the words are as good as the picture would have been.

Since I’ve broken the Blogging ice, let’s see how I do going forward.  Wish me luck!

Happy Stitching!

Jo’s on You Tube !!

Houston 2011
There is a 12 minute or so video on You Tube of my Schoolhouse presentation at Fall Quilt Market in Houston.  You may want to take a peek to see what else is coming for 2012.

There is mentioned of my email Newsletter, it is for Quilt Shops only.

However, if you follow my Blog (aka Jo’s Journal) and website you will be informed to what’s going on with Jo and her books, fabric lines, travels, kitties, quilts, tips and trivia of course.

The presentation includes free to use designs by Candy Hargrove, Jo’s Little Women’s Club 11 projects and a few new quilts to be published in a book late Spring to early Summer 2012.

FYI today!

First the quilt top shown above has been quilted, bound and sent to the pattern writers, it is the FTU (free to use) project that uses Crimson Bouquet, this gorgeous quilt was designed by my friend Candy Hargrove, it will be showing up soon on the Andover Fabrics website. really love how Candy used the stripe to frame four blocks and then use the stripe again on the outer border.

Another and important FYI . . . .
I now have a new website that went up late last week.
Same address:

And a new Blog that can be accessed through the new website by clicking on the ‘Jo’s Journal’ tab, or use this link:

We are working to see if the Old Blog can be moved to the New Blog area.

If it can’t it will go away June 2012.

If we figure out how to move it, well, you will find it on the new website in the future.

Watch this ‘New Blog’ for what’s happening with Jo.
Thanks for reading this Blog and look forward to see you on the web!

Happy Stitching everyday.

Happy New Year!

I thought you may like to see the quilt that was in APQ (American Patchwork & Quilting) October 2010, used in our home this past Christmas. It is still on the wall in our living room, the little feather tree is put away until next year. It adds to the warm feeling, with Jo colors and small piecing, what more can you ask for?
(need a smily face here)

Have you seen the ‘Dave’ commercial for Staples? I laughed out loud when I first saw the commercial and enjoy seeing it every time, that’s me!
I’m currently packing bags, the first one with the quilts and class supplies is pretty much ready to go, not zipped up yet, just in case I need to add something.
Next select the clothing that will work in southern California, but will take a jacket as it looks cool there, I’m flying to Ontario Airport tomorrow as I’m teaching 5 classes at Road2CA.
Lucky me, I nap/sleep very well on airplanes if there isn’t much turbulence.

So much to get covered here at home, my dear niece Steph is helping out with mother, so I feel comfortable leaving for a week. Russ is staying home and will keep the home fires burning and pet the kitties for me.

Better get finished up, almost dinner time – I wish you all a VERY ‘Happy and Healthy New Year’!!!!!

Until next time, Happy Stitching!
