Our favorite day of the week – Wednesday! Hard to believe that next week when we post it will be after Christmas and looking forward to a New Year.
Our BOW has been quite a journey, for me anyway, sharing blocks with you weekly, and learning to make some blocks I’ve never made before, and it is all good.
The question this week – my perfect Holiday Season is . . . peaceful and time for friends and family. Hopefully a favorite old movie or two. We will go to Russ’s sisters for Christmas Day dinner. We all bring dishes, there are emails to determine what we will bring, so there is a nice balance to our meal together, and yes there will be dessert, if there is still room in the tummy. Presents are for the little ones, we all have everything we need and more. The best part is watching the little ones open their packages. For us it is great nieces and nephews.
Christmas for me isn’t what is promoted on TV, it is spending time with good friends and family, and at this point in life a wee bit of reminiscing past years, and mostly the reason for the season. Remember what Tiny Tim says at the end of the play or movie ‘A Christmas Carol’ – God Bless us everyone.
This weeks block is by our friend Carrie Nelson, called Turnstile.
You can find the directions to make the block on Moda Carrie’s blog: http://blog.modafabrics.com/
Thanks Carrie for the inset seams, I still can do them! My block is not perfect, I’m OK with that, it is done, done is also very good. Actually a number of my blocks for this journey are not perfect, but when the quilt is set and MQ (machine quilted), it will be perfect for me. My little confessions though is that I’ve remade about 4 blocks so they look like they go in the quilt. I did not have a good plan at the beginning . . .
