2017 Moda BlockHeads BOW – Block 36

Greetings!  It is that special day of the week that we can’t wait for – Wednesday!

I need to catch up a wee bit – last weeks question – ‘do you make quilts quilt to give as gifts for Christmas’?  Short answer – no.  We were not blessed with children . . . and I’m old-fashioned in what I make.  I seriously cannot sew with the new colors for gifts for anyone.  Sorry, not the answer you were looking for.

This weeks question – how many fabric collections have you created?   Yikes – 90, so far.

Do I have a favorite collection, sorry no favorite.  I love them all and mostly I love being able to mix ’em up, and yes with other designers fabrics.

This weeks block is by our friend Carrie Nelson, I pulled the fabrics before heading to Houston a while back.  After I sewed the block Saturday Nov 4th, I wish I had changed and added a 4th fabric.  Oh well, I still like it, but on any given day, I would probably sew it with different fabrics.  Is that a curse? Hummm, not sure, but it certainly seems to be a Jo thing.  LOL

  1. I am old fashioned. In what I make too..I have tried on occasion to make a more modern pattern with old fashioned fabric and sometimes that works..for gifts, staying with holiday themed projects seems to be a good fit with the old fashioned look we love

  2. Jo all of your fabric collections are beautiful! I have never seen one that I didn’t like and I love that they are somewhat interchangeable. They never go out of style. At least for my tastes. I rarely give quilts as gifts but do give sewn gift items- pot holders, rice warmers, wall hangings, bags. Stuff like that. Your block this week looks great! Don’t change a thing.
