Block 11, 2017 Moda BlockHeads BOW

Questions this week, favorite quilt pattern ever?

Oh my, so many blocks I love to use in quilts . . . Log Cabin/Courthouse Steps is up there with LeMoyne Stars, mostly hand piece the LeMoyne Stars (my other favorite piecing method), then have to add Sawtooth Star, Ohio Star and variations, Square in a Square, Four Patches, Nine Patches, Churn Dash, so many good basic block options.

I think this is sort of like choosing your favorite child, and I can’t do it, even though we don’t have children. Quilt settings can make basic blocks shine.  But you all know that.

Block 11, Once again Lisa has made us step up to the plate with this one.  Be sure to visit Lisa’s Blog to get her directions.

We can do it ladies!  This one was easier after sewing Lisa’s block 5.  I’m more careful and square up each unit before adding to it, then square up again, etc.  Mine came out ‘just right’ this time, didn’t have to make 3 of them!   LOL

It is a beautiful block, thank you Lisa!

Here is my block pressing, but first let me tell you I’ve never pressed so many seams open, but I fell it is necessary and makes for a beautiful block!

  1. Your block is beautiful, thanks for always showing your pressing, that’s my focus, have to learn to press better. Hugs

  2. I agree with Debbie. I always appreciate seeing the pressing of the back. Many times it has helped with my navigating the piece. Thank you !
